Western KY Peabody lakes

I was wondering if anyone on here ever fish these lakes? If so which ones do you find the best for crappie fishing. I fish these lakes exclusively. I have found that this time of year instead of catching crappie, on minnows, in lakes like Goose lake I tend catch very nice bass and a lot of them. Does anyone else have this situation happen to them? Don't get me wrong I love catching bass too, but I would love to get on some large crappie also.

Are you asking about the Peabody Wildlife Management Area in central Kentucky?

You ever try cypress lake while you are over by Goose? There are several over there that have decent depth and some wood cover whether it is standing cypress or flooded out willows due to beavers.

I have thought about dragging the kayak over there to give them a try. I duck hunt there some so know which ones are deep and which ones (or areas) have bottomless grey mud.

In the Muhlenberg and Ohio county area.I am from Muhlenberg, not far from Goose lake.

Actually I have caught a few out of there. But nothing consistently. That is the one that is now flooded all the way up to the parking area isn't it? If it I talked to a guy that works out there for the state and the tile under the road has collapsed and the state wont give them the money to fix it.

I was thinking about the wrong lake. I was thinking about the one called Sunrise. I have fished in Cypress also. But it was for catfish.

Not sure what the flooded one is called. I know there are two most soil units upstream of it. Back in the winter the bottom lake was all the way up to the levee on the bottom moist soil. Looked fishy to me.

Cypress is a smaller one that has a fair amount of cypress trees out in it. Looks like they were planted in a single row.

The lakes I am familiar with are on the sinclair unit. You may find some crappie in Pond too or the sloughs off of it.

Are you from the Greenville area? I am from Muhlenberg county myself.
