Drain Hole Fill In

I'm remodeling a pan fisher boat and took the live well out. Don't care for them. Any simple ideas to fill the drain hole and aerator holes besides welding? Was thinking a couple aluminum squares bolted over the holes and them some JB Weld along the seams. The holes are like 1 inch of maybe 1 half.

Two round aluminum plates a bit larger than your hole.....two rubber pieces same size ( could it out of old inner tube) Drill hole in center of each aluminum disc and also the rubber and bolt through the middle That way you dont have to make any more holes in the boat.

I think with G's idea you would need 2 piece's for each hole. One inside, one out.

I have done several like that....put a little silicone on each side of rubber pieces just for good measure. Works great

I used the round plug that has a small T handled that turns to tighten, must admit it leaks sometimes and I re-tighten. Did not want to permanently seal in case I need for trade dollars.

Go to the parts house and ask for temporary expanding freeze plugs

Got a question for you since you took your livewell out. I have the same boat and was thinking of turning my livewell 90 degrees and place it flush against the right side of the boat. How are the holes in the floor placed and would this be much of a problem?

You don't need to bolt or weld.....Simply cut a patch out of a piece of aluminum a couple of inches larger than the hole. Sand the area and the patch with rough sandpaper or a wire brush on a power drill. Wipe the areas with acetone or lacquer thinner to remove any grease or oils, and apply JB weld to the patch, push down and place weight on the patch. Go under boat and smooth out the JB Weld before it starts to set. Wait 24 hours, then hit the water.... She ain't gonna leak there, It's a permanent fix. Did this in transom floor of my Duracraft seven years ago.Attachment 236709
