Finally...No Wind=Crappie Slaughter
I've been following this weeks forecast since last week. When I felt certain the wind wasn't going to blow, I took Tuesday and Wednesday off. What a pleasure it was fishing on windless days. The lack of wind also allowed me a chance to fish the main lake. I placed some brush out last fall just prior to the flood, and this was my first chance to try'em out. They were even better than expected. The last two days have been exceptional with fish catches in the hundreds with the majority of the fish being egg laden white crappie. Fish weights ranged from 3/4 to over 2.0lbs with biggest fish being black crappie. I was fishing two poles at once, minnows on one, jig on the other. I can't count how many times I caught two at a time. It was a blast to say the least.
