I had one of my customers give me a bag that UPS uses to ship packages in. It is a real fine mesh as you can see in the pic. Has 4 eyelets. It is 36" wide and 32" deep. Do you guys think it would be worth trying to use it as a drift sock? I know I might need 2 of 'em but I have access to more of them so that isn't a problem. Opinions?Attachment 236104
You'll have to put something that makes the top of the mouth float and the bottom of the mouth sink or it won't open up to catch water.
Academy has socks for $15, I have a couple of them and they work great.
I think it would be fun to try them as drift socks. Get a pool noodle and put between your eyes on the top and get a couple 1 ounce weights for the bottom 2 anchor points and see what happens. You may have discovered the best drift sock ever.
