Got my new Helix units set up and tied into the ethernet box....I know the ethernet draws current all the time but after setting for 3 to 4 weeks starting battery almost completely drained. ..
battery is year old...is this normal? I had both Helix un plugged during this time.

Did you charge up the main battery with a battery charger, or are you under the impression that the motor would charge up your battery to full charge?????
I have a main power cut off switch on my boat....when I get thru fishing and load up....I turn it off.....never a problem with battery drain.
One of best things i ever invested in - Main Power "cut off switch" everything stops - also is good
deterient for "would be thieves" - especially when you have it hidden well..........
Think I better wire ff and ethernet to kill side of main power switch

The units do not use power when shut off ...
The AS ETH 5PXG cannot be shut off ... It must be switched to remove power ...

I've stared just reaching up under console and unscrewing power lead to ethernet. ..I'll see if that helps....hopefully something else not draining battery.
