Out with old, In with new
My old Sears Craftsman riding mower after 15 yrs. of use, needed a new steering assembly. So after a few hours of contortions I fixed the old girl.Had to tap the base plate with threads and not having a tap and die set, I used the mounting bolts that were a harder grade metal than the mounting plate and a 1/2" drive socket wrench,I was able to tap threads into the plate. As a extra precaution I also installed lock nuts on the bolts after tightening them up. It ain't going no where. She's as good as new!My old body is gonna feel this for a few days!Couple of pics!
