Flatline trolling this am and my pet rod somehow fell out the rod holder. I was in the back in of a cove in about 6-8 fow. Tried to hook the line with a blade bait with double treble hooks dragging bottom but no luck. Any ideas/ The search area is not that big 1/4 to 1/2 acre. Upside..caught some nice ones before I had to leave..left biting fish. Thanks FB
A piece of strong nylon clothline with a big weighted treble hook that has been dulled down. Throw it in a fan pattern like the alligator hunters on tv. Good luck.
I lost a drift master T bar back in February, dropped it over in 20 ft of water, thought well that'll be easy to snag..... I was wrong.. And I even dropped a marker buoy soon as it fell over!
Found it....went back the next day and hooked the line after 40 minutes of trying. Used a large treble hook and barrel weight above on heavy boat rod. Washed it warm soapy water and lubed real good. Back in action yesterday afternoon. Caught 16 keepers average size 12" flatline trolling . The bluebird day was tough until about 6:00 pm and they turned on like a switch. Kinda thought that was going to be the pattern so decided to stay out a bit later. FB
