It seems as though lots of Folks know when the Spawn is on for Whisker Fish -- However I dont know exactly when that is. Water Temp makes a lot of Difference. I like to fish for them with light tackle. The areas I fish do not usualy have people that are hand Grabbing or Doodling as it is called. I thank all of you that have made the practice Famious
the season in MS runs from may till july 15. Blues and hump backs start to spawn first and flatheads begin after they do. The lakes warm up faster than the rivers we fish in, so folks that fish the lakes may catch a flathead late in may but for the rivers it's usually mid-late june before you'll find a flathead in a log in north central MS.
Tackle in this case depends on how big a boy are gal are ya...? Like rage said, July thru august when the sun gets hot.. just be careful of those snappers and snakes. They like a cool spot to lie off in too... every now and again.
