Kentucky Lake Report 4/05-4/10*
As everyone else has said it was a tough week to be at he big lakes. The cold fronts rolling through were bad enough but I could deal with that since after all cold fronts are just a part of spring. The wind however was a whole other story. From Tuesday until Friday afternoon we could only find a few spots we could fish and making a run out on the lake was out of the question. At one point we decided to try trailering over to Barkley to see if we could find a little shelter over there. The conditions were a little better in the coves we tried but the protected areas didn't have the water we were looking for.
Even though it was a tough 5 days of fishing we did manage to get a few and like always Ky Lake didn't disappoint when it comes to size. We only had a few hours Tuesday evening to fish and I picked up this big girl...I didn't get a good measurement but it was past the 15"mark. I was so fricking cold but she warmed me up.

Brian had a decent day on the last night. When the weather eased up a little.

Here's one of the bass I caught

One of the boats we were with were killing the bass just casting rocky banks with jigs. Brian had a monster bass 6-7# hooked on a 12' crappie rod but it came unbuttoned. In a normal trip to Ky Lake we generally have non stop action from bass, yellow bass, gills, red ears, catfish, sheep head, gar and whatever else is in there. This trip it was different. Not only was the crappie fishing slow, so was everything else.
It's a nice group I go with these days. No one complained, no one wanted to leave early (we were tent camping) and on the last evening there was already talk of next year.
Chaunc I hope these pics help ease your pain a little.
