Fishing 4-9-16

We went to the 1000 acre lake in Carroll Co yesterday and had a great time. The last time we were there a couple years ago, we caught a lot of fish but none were over 9 inches. I'm happy to report those little guys are keepers now. :)
Water temp ranged from 58 to just knocking on 60. We were slow trolling jigs in 14 - 16 fow and they favored chartreuse tipped with nibbles. At one point, I had a crappie on all four of my rods at the same time, which was awesome. We ended up with 23 keepers (all blacks) and 2 nice bream. We also ran into some guys that Paul works with and ended up fishing the same area.

I have had several locals tell me they have caught some 12 inchers this year. Ima gonna try my luck if I ever get my boat together. I know where the bream hang out. I need to verify my map anyway.

Were you in the Ranger or the Green Machine?

We were in the Ranger. We had a couple 11 inchers but no twelves. Sure had fun though. Was gonna see if y'all wanted to meet at Praters Taters but I saw that you were at the lake house. :)

Yes! Also lots of trees along the channels were juts topped out. You should be safe if you stay away from the south end.

You can go to google earth and preview the history and see the underwater danger areas.

Some of those fish went into the freezer and some went . . . . .
