Kentucky Lake
Well let KY lake give me a good whipping this week. All that wind and the rough waters. Did not do any good at all. Cross the lake Thursday from Big Bear Creek and went to Duncan Bay. I didn't think I was going be able to get back it was so bad. A question to Doug,Wiskers and all the other one's that does the long lining. Since this was the method I was using, how long would you stay with the long lining if not getting any results. I like the Long lining so good couldn't get away from it but caught just a few fish. Your thoughts gentlemen if up against this non productive scene again. Thanks.

If the longlining isn't working, I'll start checking out known structure like stakebeds or brushpiles with my down/side scan to see if they are containing fish. If they are I would consider 2-poling (vertical jigging) or spider rigging. If the fish are scattered out but visible, I might go to casting or even trolling some larger baits like roadrunners or cranks. If those don't work just consider it to be one of those days that hand grenades should be legal.
Me, if the longlining and cranks don't work this time of the year, I'm putting it on the trailer and heading 15 minutes back to the house.

Been cranking with okay results but this wind has been horrible for boat control. Dipping deeper structure has been better for me but others are fishing shallow. My graph has shown a TON of fish...just not many takers.

Sounds like them fish be on a diet, when full of eggs they just might want pickles and ice cream. :Rofl
