Caney Lake 4-6-16

I knew there was some weather coming in but decided to give Caney a try this morning anyway. I think I may have fished for at least 30 minutes before the wind started howling. Fished from 7:30-12:00. Water temp was 65-67 degrees. I caught 5 crappie and one bass. I threw back one crappie. Five fish make me and mama a good mess if mama will eat LOTS of taters. LOL. :ThumbsUp

Only one female. All fish but one caught in 10-12 feet of water. Caught them on pink/blue sparkle and white/red/white hair jigs that I tied. The female looked like she and spawned at least half of her eggs, but still had quite a few in her. Sorry, no pictures today. Maybe I can take some Saturday when I plan to go again.

That wind sure knows how to mess up a fishing trip.. Congrats on the ones you were able to keep and thanks for the report.

No sir. It is NOT open. Plus, since Brown's Landing, on the other end of the lake, burned there is no where on the lake to get ice, drinks, snacks, or bait.
