Boating question
My father inlaw's boat is registered in Ga. He lives in Ga but I have his boat in NC.
Question is can I legally use his boat in NC and Sc as long as I have registration card or a copy of it?
I want to fish Big A if this is legal.
Any advice would be great.

yes as long as you have the paper work !!!! you should fine !!!
-
I'm just guessing but I'll bet if your last name isnt the same as the registration you may have a problem.
-
If in doubt call your local DNR to find out.:)
-
Name is not the same.
Thanks for the advise y'all.

As long as you have the registration you are OK in SC. I would think it is the same in other states.
-
In SC,if you're not the titled owner of the boat and motor,I think you need a written and signed letter from the owner giving you permission to use it.But,like gabowman said it is always best to check with the dnr in the state were you'll be using it,

I have loaned my boat out a couple of times and what I have always done is given them a permission slip typed out with their name and my signature and phone number. They got stopped once and it was no problem. Plus they had a copy of the registration..

Thank you all for replies. I'll check with both states before using.
Just to be on the safe side.
