Another Late Report on Caney, 4-2-16
The Lord shined down upon me Saturday. I did not get in a hurry to get to the lake on Saturday, arriving around 9:15. Checked out a few places I have caught fish in before. I looked shallow and deep in several places. Then, around 11:00 AM, I caught a crappie in about 4 feet of water on a Beetle Spin using a jig tipped with Blue Thunder/Chartreuse Tail. That was the only fish I caught in shallow water. Around 11:30 AM I caught a fish in 9 feet of water. I stayed there until I had caught 12 more crappie, all in water from 9-12 feet deep. I ended the day around 2:00 PM. All fish were caught between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM. 12 of them were males. All but 2 of them were caught on a jig that I tied with a pink head and blue body. The males certainly had on their tuxedoes. Here are a couple of pictures.
