You can always count on Rees Guide to be truthful. This coming from a bushwhacker in Yankee territory.

I took my brother in law with me Sunday as this front was moving in, so I can't say if they are doing exactly the same thing as below, but they shouldn't be far from it.

We ended up with 50+ hook-ups, wound up keeping 20. At daylight we fished a hump in a cove adjacent to a creek run and caught them in 2 1/2 to 3 ft of water. Fish were anywhere from 6" deep to 18" off the bottom. From there we followed them as they backed off into the creek and out towards a little deeper water as conditions brightened up.

The rest of the day, as far as consistent patterns go, there was only one: 3.5 to 5 ft. deep in 7-9 FOW moving fast- between .3 and .5 mph. I always keep 2 rods bouncing the bottom, and the 2 big fish of the day, as usual, came on the bottom bouncers. Other than that, we caught them from dang near topwater to the bottom.

We caught them on orange heads, chart heads, black and chart bodies, chart bodies, pink and black, some green blue glittery color that I don't know the name of, some were minnow-tipped, some minnow only, some crappie nibblet tipped...basically I bounced from contour change to contour change and fished a wad of active fish until they moved off. I believe a turd would've worked, but it had to be in front of them and at the speed they wanted it. Longer leaders seemed to work better.

If I go back Friday, I'll be fishing 3.5 to 5 feet feet deep in 7-9 FOW once the shallow morning bite is over unless the banks are really lined with folks fishing, then I'll move a little closer offshore for them fat-bottomed girls.

Up the creeks and rivers it will but main lake will be fine.

My home lake (Kemper Lake) has a visibility averaging 10 feet this time of year. In the early summer it will be 12+ feet. ANY turbidity in that lake and the fish sulk up about it. However, when it's gin-clear, they have the ability to inspect your egg weight for scuff marks. From one extreme to the next...

Appreciate all the responses, advise, and information. Had a decent day today. Definitely some big fish in this lake. Hopefully weather holds for the week but looking doubtful
