Polyurethane as head cement?

I have a barely used quart of oil based polyurethane that I have no use for. I've heard Skip say he uses lacquer thinned with MEK for his head cement and wondered if this poly would be usable too? I'd thin it down a bit of course. I've been using Sally Hansen's for this purpose and haven't had any issues but I'd like to find a use for this stuff. I'll probably never use it all in my lifetime if it works. Anyone have any experience or thoughts?

I have never tried it but would think your dry time would be the only drawback. If you thinned it real thin it might dry faster.

I am unsure, but if you try it just make sure to thin it good. I don't ever measure it, but I use close to a 50/50 mix with MEK. MEK dries super fast and why I use it plus I can use it for other things.

If concerned about the drying time, just mix like 2 drops and then put a small amount on something and let it dry to see how long it takes.
