The South and The North go at it ......
Wednesday was a ridiculous south wind and warm and Thursday was a ridiculous north wind and cold . Welcome to Texas and our weather mood swings . to say it was easy spanking the fish would be short of the truth ,but none the less we gave it to them both days pretty good . The south was the better of the 2 ,but as in most cases a strong weather change made for a little more of a challenge on the fish . The fish were mostly out in deeper water both days , but as with crappie we are beginning the "next" spawn on that water body and it should be going well in the next few days hopefully . some males were up close to the bank again ,but for the most part the fish were staged out in the deep brush .
They will take bright colors early with a tendency to want more natural sparkly baits as the sun shines down on them . I released my fish Wednesday and only stayed for about an hour off the bank . The Thursday fish went in my buds freezer and we used my little john boat and stayed about 3 hours . Sure was ccccold in that strong north wind and 40 degrees outside at first light , took a pretty fair beating we did paddling around in that . I am in hopes i get to go ketch some fish elsewhere soon , but right now they sure are fun at that little lake . :ThumbsUp
as always hope you enjoy the photos and the read .....
