Does anyone know where to get some large (size 5+) chenille? I've only been able to find size 4 so far. Just wanting to make a fat bulky jig.

size 5 isn't noticeably bigger than size 3 to me, I have been trying size 10 crystal chenille from crazy angler and he has size 5 and 3 too in the crystal, it's beautiful stuff. I have also seen size 5 on ebay, but to find the color you want takes a little luck. Skip who is on here quite a bit uses the size 10 a lot and will sell some to you.
Redear, do you have a picture of this size 10 on a tie? I'm curious to see what a finished jig looks like.
Will send a PM

callmecamo, I am a computer dummy and couldn't post a pic if someone held a gun to my head, lol. but just look at skiptomylu's post above this one, those three yellow chart. jigs with the pink heads are what it looks like, it looks like the chenille takes up half the gap of a size 4 sickle hook, but of course it compresses if a crappie were to bite it, you can control the sparseness or densness of the jigs body according to how close your wraps are together, have tied on 1/24. 1/16 and 1/8 heads and also size 6 and 4 sickles, it fits the 4 perfect. the other day I had a gill inhale one of these jigs in size 10, also a few yellow perch in the 1/2lb. size so even tho it's full figured it still catches all sizes of panfish.
These are all wearing Size 10 Crystal Chenille.

Thanks for the pics, Pepop! That definitely looks like the effect I'm going for. I'll be tying mostly on #2 hooks and some #4 and #1's.
Redear, I'm full figured too but the fish don't seem to discriminate.
today I showed a guy some of my newest ties with this size 10 crystal, and he promptly confiscated about 6 of them in 1/8 in junebug with chart. tail and dirty chicken with gray tail. these have two silver streamers out the back in magnum flashabou because I meant them to be cast and retrieve jigs, he went nuts over the chenille.
