Can you launch from North Graysport when the water is at 211?
No, dont ask me how I know!!!!:banghead Actually you can launch but you cant get away from the ramp, about 30 feet out there is a sand or dirt bank all the way across about 6 inches under the water. That was Friday, lakes up a couple of inches. Also, I had to back the trailer off the ramp the ramp to unload and find all this out and bout never pulled it back up on the ramp with a 2 wheel drive and without the help of some nice folks from the "Show Me State" would have really been a pain to load it back up.
What some have been doing with the parking lot being full at South Graysport, takes 2 people tho, is under at South Graysport and let whoever is driving the truck to drive around North Graysport and park, motor the boat around to North Graysport and pick him up, be sure to pull in East of the ramp where the bushes are, you can get close there.
Ress, Thanks, I was trying not to run the lake with the 15-20 mph wind. Yesterday at the MCC tourney those guys were really bouncing coming in and my wife won't like me if I do that to her.
No problem,I should have took time to check what the water levels were last year in the CM, we were bumping that sand bar them. Will check and post back what it was, it was doable then.
It was at 212 last year when we were unloading.
At 212 that sandbar at North Graysport will still be a problem for bigger glass boats.
I saw somebody having a helluva time loading their boat last Wednesday or Thursday. That boat was was standing straight up!! We did not laugh or nothing. [emoji12]
Surely that was not you Rees
Yep, I was bumping it last year at 212 but it was doable. Parking right now is a major issue, major. At daylight Friday morning the parking lot at South Graysport was full and the line of folks waiting to unload was out in the road. Way it looks we wont see 212 for a couple of weeks. My BassCat is HEAVY and sits very low in the water, good for fishing but tuff in shallow water, not sure if it will float clean in 15 inches of water.
Nope, I did my experimenting Fri. It was tite but with the back of the boat against the sand bar I swung the nose over on the trailer and the nice guys from the "Show Me State" using a rope pulled the boat up on the trailer some clearing the rear from the sandbar and letting me crank the Merc and load up, pulled out without issue.
North Graysport, 212 and up in the memory bank now, Scuna/Turkey most likely 213.
Thanks for the numbers Ress, It will keep me from wading.
