Kayak Trip Report, Barron Fork
I went to Barron Fork today. Dropped some PVC fish attractors and spent most of the day marking stumps with my GPS while the water is low. I caught about 40 Crappie, and several dozen Bass and Gills, all Crappie released but 5 that swallow my spinner or were hook deep. I had three Crappie that were between 15 and 16 inches. I plan to release all my Crappie until after the spawn, my freezer's full and maybe there will be a few more little Crappie next year!
The wind has rough, but I still had nice day. All fish were caught on a 1/32 spinner with a white twister tail. Basically when I saw a dark spot that was a stump in about a foot and a half of water I'd start by making a few cast before paddling up and marking it with my GPS. Water was clear and 65 degrees.
