We done it again !
Kind of cool and little misty rain that went through quickly but it left the Wind ! But we launced all boats to take on the Wylie Slab Monsters. We had5 boats fish today. Couple of newcomers to the Wild Bunch also. Jope they didnt think all of us are crazy like CK. Everyone went to the spot they wanted to do battle with the Monster. I went to one of brettw's No Fish Holes. We did catch a kitty and keeper crappie real quick. But then .....Our new comer Colonel Crappie and his buddy hung in that spot a while longer. They caught several more good fish in there. But Fishin Fore and myself headed to better ground. Ended up in another of brett's No Fish Here Holes. Oh well on to better ground. CK called and said he found em hidin in Big Allison. Here we go again. After ridin half a tank of gas and wasting an hour or so we found CK. Sure enough he had found em. We set up and started catchin a few. Some decent crappie and that other white meat. Dont know how many eggs a perch will lay but we helped thin out the new crop very well. Seemed like every one we caught was bout to bust with eggs.Anyway after fightin the wind we pulled up shop and headed in bout 2:00 p.m. Our weigh in was put to shame by the Crappie Trail Tourney that was there. But we had fun. Our big fish winner was ........ CK.. with a 2.1 lb. fish. 2nd went to Fishin Fore with a 1 .5 fish. Think everyone had fun .Hope so anyway. We will be doing it again so be ready. Thanks guys for comin out. Colonel Crappie and Mr. McDonald hope ya come back and give it another try with us.

A big thanks to all for the hospitality. It was nice putting faces to the names I have read about for several years. We had a blast and caught some fish as well. If i knew how to put up pictures i would add them to this post. I got a great one of Mr. McDonald with a double hook up. Looking forward to the next time.

Yes it was a great time. We have a bunch of nice folks here. Was suppose to be at the ramp at 8:00. at 8:15 rolled out of bed and headed to Ebenezer. Met them in Torrence and caught nothing. Decided to go to Big Allison and found a nice school that was hungry. Long line 6 pole 1/16th a two 1/8th. Used for the first time Strike Kings The Joker. Black and chartreuse and white and chartreuse. Cloudy was black and sunny is white. Since we had changing sun and clouds I went half black and half white. Had a blast in quality fish. Just had a couple chips, one green carp that mess up a couple of lines and on white perch that did not get in picture. And of course those that were lost at the surface. Had a few thought they were bass and jumped out of water and lost them. I was 20 feet in creek channel fish were about 8 to 14 feet. .8 speed was the ticket. That put my 1/16th at 8 feet and my 1/18th at 13 feet.
This year will be my first full year at this long line stuff and thanks all for the advice.
Brettw see trophy. Come on out and bring the A game. :biggrin
