Not much luck at Cheney today, trolled with cranks and spinners - nothing. Drifted with jigs and nightcrawlers - nothing. Finally caught a FAT black crappie on a 2" pink tripple tip jig. Nice day no wind!Attachment 232690Attachment 232691Attachment 232692

I do have a question about the fishing between Cheney and Eldorado. I have been studying lake maps, topo maps, contour maps etc and Cheney doesn't seem to have the structure like Eldorado.
How do you rank them as far as crappie fishing?
Both have crappie but EL Dorado has the trees and brush piles. I here about the Cheney crappie spawn, probably best in a boat as the shore gets crowded.

sounds like the new state record walleye was caught here this weekend too
That walleye may not have happened - may have been caught another time/different place??? Be awesome if it was - hopefully will be verified soon.
Unfortunately, that potential state record walleye that has been going around, was caught last year in Nebraska, not KS.Quote:
