The Snakes are out of Hibernation. I was taking a bucket of Deer Corn to a feeder close to the Pond. to reach its location I had to cross the water leaving the spillway. My crossing is 4 Concrete Cinder blocks. Between the first two blocks were a pair of Cotton Mouths Mating. I first thought it was common water snake untill I tried to get it to move. as the Mouth was flaring and the Agressiveness showing the second Cottonmouth rolled out from under a Cinder Block, and there was no dought they were mating. On the way to get my 22 another Cottonmouth slid in the water in the Pond which I had just passed. When I got back the Mating was over. My first shot stunned it and it rolled and Flipped and lay still. the Hunt was on for #2 which I never saw. then the snake came back to life, and as It was in the sight, Nothing, The Rifle had Jamed. A quick eject and 3 shots so fast it almost sounded like one shot as it was going in the water of my Neighbors Pond . One Hollow Point clipped the spine just after the head. Looking for #3 I killed a common water snake, but it was not the one I had seen because I had checked its ID Card. The temp had reached 80 and they are active
