LOZ - Sunday 3/13
Fished the Big Niangua today for the first time. I couldn't find any fish for much of the day fishing docks. Heading back to the house I decided to try this one rocky bank before calling it quits. At this point I had one crappie and a nice walleye. I found these about 5:30 out from the bank in about 6-8 feet of water. Water temp was around 59 degrees. All caught on jigs, road runner head with either a watermelon/chartreuse slider grub or blue/silver/chartreuse mister twister type grub. The largest black crappie measured almost 13 inches. It is always nice to start the first trip of the year like this.
