Thanks!!!
Been fishing the sloughs and flats from bank and kayak. The 14-16 inch big boys are fanning nests out rite now. I've fished 4ft-2ft deep and they seem to be 6-8 inches from the bottom no matter the depth hittin minnows over jigs. But 1 guy had a grubs getting 10 or more about 2ft under bobber. He also had 3 times as many stripe hitting the jig. Because i was so close to bottom I had to switch to a lite wire hook to bend off the ocasional channel cat. Whites I got today are turning. Hopefully by Tuesday and weather permitting we will have slim pickings soon. But until then I'm happy with the few big ones I been getting. I Don't fish the channel much so I can't tell u anything there.
It's good and would be great if they wouldn't pull the water down. Oh and the wind.
Jayce15, I see you just joined. Welcome!
Thanks ditch. I found the info in this forum to be most helpful. I grew up fishing the muddy waters of Arkansas so it's been a challenge getting back in the game here with how different the fish move due to the constant changing reservoir but I'm learning them quick thanks to yall.
Hope to meet you on the water one day. I believe there are more great areas for kayak, then for the larger boats around here.
Jayce15 Welcome from the Alabama delta
