Bluebird weather for sure
But we had to give it a try. Hit first canal for 2 hours, nada. Move over into the lake and first stop, wham, 1.5 pound sac. Hot dog it's on. Five minutes later 1.5 pound cat. That was it for that place. Headed out to fish off the Intracoastal Canal. Fish for and hour with no bites, the drop my jig and the cork never stopped. I pull in the small bass. Tried shiners to no avail. I caught the sac on a roadrunner type bait, caught the cat on a shiner, and caught the bass on a BG monkey milk.
While fishing the last canal we saw the strangest thing. We were fishing the left bank out of the wind. The slight wind was hitting the other bank. I heard what I though was a boat coming from behind us, you know the slapping of the water under the bow. WELL, when I turned around to see there was no boat but there was a wave coming down the middle of the canal but just in an area about 6 foot across. It was about 1.5 feet high. After both of us staring at it for a while we realized it was a small water spout, or twister. I grabbed for my phone to take a picture of it but just as I opened the camera it faded away. Another first for me.
