Crappie on depth finders
I think I have watched every video there is on seeing and catching crappie on a depth finder. I recently picked up a humminbird helix 9 2d/di for the front on ol smokey. It's like looking at a tv. The picture quality is great. I was doing some exploring and though I found some good fish down near the dam at Jordan the other day. Here is what it looked like on my finder. Attachment 230417

If you guys think about it lets take some Picts of what it looks like on your sonar and some Picts of the catch.

now remember the size on your finder and look for bigger ones, and once you find the big crappie get a mental pic of what they look like on the finder size wise, on mine i like a thick arch, but they are all set a bit different and then find me some turkeys

Nothing beats on-the-water experience. Just keep at it and pretty soon you'll have it down pat.

My experience with a picture like that is--You have a very large school of shad, bream and little crappie together. They will disperse and form their on groups shortly. Look for large fish around the school.

Newly, you keep them little one up there. We have had our share of them during the NC/SC clashes. Don't flush them down here.:Rofl
Good pictures on your minnow finder.

In your top picture, I would be fishing at 10-15' and at 20'. The larger fish are on the bottom, but this time of year, they are probably digesting a big meal and inactive. Your active fish are going to be chasing the bait. Some minnows or jigs in the 10'-15' range should produce some keeper fish. The most important thing is you have located bait, so trolling around this area should produce fish. Your screenshots look exactly like what I saw on Jordan last Saturday.

Hey CBNC. Do not send a picture of a fish laying on your depthfinder. I know how your mind works and what you are thinking.

Newly,I have the helix 5 SI I just added to my boat. It does not show the different fish as yours does. It shows single fish fine, but if there are a group, it shows up as just one mass. What needs adjusting? The sensitivity? Haven't messed with it much. Thanks
