Well right now the water is muddy with all of the rain and 51 degrees. I went Friday for the first time this year and the wind was bad and water muddy so I struck out. By mid march things should be heated up and maybe some spawning going on. Hard to say right now the way the weather has been this year but when the water reaches 60 degrees you should be able to catch some spawning or staging right off of their spawning areas. Just fish anywhere you can find some laydown trees with some deeper water nearby. Swayback and weokee are some good starting places. I am no expert for sure and usually just keep moving around probing laydowns with minnows or jig on a cork until I find some. 15 or 20 would be a good day for me for sure. I believe mitchell or lay may have a better population of crappie so I hear but dont know for sure
Thanks again i hope the weather gets them going i only get a week each month so i hope for good luck
Don't know about the crappie but you can have a field day catching big magnum spotted bass an an Alabama rig!!! Fish sea walls along the main river:fish
