Bayou Cheramie

Water temp was 65, visibility under a foot and water level seemed about a foot lower than the last time I've fished here a few weeks ago. Fish are spawning. I caught thin females with red abdomens in deeper water and aggressive males around shallow stumps. The males bite was solid and the fight was strong. Caught some nice fish, released them all as my freezer is stocked. Grey ghost caught the most and gave up one at the boat to a huge catfish before I could net him using 6 lb. test. My new favorite color jig! Saw plenty of gators and this one smiled for the camera. Attachment 229767Attachment 229768

good report, glad to see someone doing good back there. went Friday and bombed couldn't get a handle on them at all.

good report.....we must have passed each other during the day....I launched at Doirons around 8....caught 15, kept 4 sacs.....thro back 5 big bream, 1 catfish, 4 small sacs, 1 gar.....
