2-20 Report
Went to the Madison County Lake to do some longlining yesterday. Trolled all around the lake without a bite or graphing many fish, decided to cut across the lake and bam, found them. They were cruising along an old creek channel in 23-30 FOW. They were suspended anywhere from 12-18'. Water temp was 47 and they wanted it on the slow side. If I got above .9 mph they would not bite. Had to use two 1/16 oz jigs to get to the right depth. Any dark blue/or purple jig seemed to work. Probably caught about 25 and only kept 15 for a meals worth. The fish there are small, they all run about 8.5-11" (there is no size limit on this lake) is all, but it was fun to be out on the water and get all the long lining gear out and work thru the kinks of getting it operational again. The wind started to get a little rough and my fishing partner/my wife decided she had had enough of the wind so we called it a day. Lol:biggrin

Nice, most of mine came in 20ft of water last week as well. Hopefully this warm spell should get them in the 12 to 15 ft range and then I will commence to destroy them!

Great job Bob D!
Hopefully the fish being suspended near the creek means there going to start the move shallow soon!

Glad you and your wife got out and caught a mess. I fished there for a couple hours Sunday morning and caught 20 from the bank. Fishing 3 - 3 1/2' ft. under a cork with purple and chartreuse.
