Need help on license..
Hi-- I'm very new to the forum albeit a lurker since we moved to Clinton five months ago. I am in the process of getting ready to hit the water but need info on licensing an outboard.
As we moved from Arkansas, I have no license or info on how to license the outboard on my boat. When I licensed the boat and trailer, I asked, but the person I talked to wasn't much help. Since Arkansas (and Washington State previous to that) don't license motors, I have no title or even a bill of sale as I bought the motor in 2005.
How do I go about it?
I appreciate your advice! Thanks.
PS: Saw quite a few boats on 7 heading back to town yesterday and even more toward Warsaw. I am anxiously awaiting hitting the water...my gills are getting dry.

Welcome aboard . Good luck on getting lic worked out.

I will bet you have to go to the Highway PATROL Headquarters in Springfield and get it inspected for Missouri, I bought two boats from Arkansas and had to have both inspected by the Patrol It is just routine. call them you will see it is easy

Welcome to the site. I live in Clinton also. There is a tournament this weekend with the weigh in at Deepwater boat ramp between 3 and 4. Good place to come meet some crappie.com guys and gals and learn how everyone caught their fish. If you need help finding the ramp holler.

License you don't need no stinking license! Remember your name is jarred.

Well-- found out a few things, and thanks for the help! Called the highway patrol, was shifted to the water patrol division, and the lady there told me I need to get a Form 798 or 748 form (found it and printed a copy on my other computer). Now I have to contact the local patrol office and will probably talk to the local water patrol officer to get the motor licensed...
Needless to say, this is a minor pain compared to what I'm used to. However, I'm not paying $65 a year to license my boat and another $35 to license the trailer every year as I did in Washington State.
Sorry to miss the tournament weigh in Jigging15; I need to be elsewhere today. On the plus side, I should be on the water starting next week. Hope to see some folks this year.
Thanks for the welcome, folks. I do appreciate it!
