Powder paint or liquid paint for jigs?

Just what it says. How many use Powder Paint and how many use a liquid of some flavor?

I use powder paint and when painting on eyes I use vinyl jig paint.

I do the same as you except I don't do eye any more, but have tried them all it seems, Did the Acrylic with clear over and have done Testors which is okay too, but most eyes I paint now are just the little Black eyes I put on Roadrunners and that is vinyl.

Have been thinking about trying doing eyes with liquid Powder paint.

Powder paint - and if I want eyes I flatten the sides of the jig before powder painting then stick the eye on after curing using a little Duco Cement and haven't lost an eye yet.

Powder paint on crappie jig's 100%,Use spray paint (wal-mart) spray paint on spinnerbait's(bass/crappie) bait's.

We have been doing so much tying lately I'm considering getting the big fluid bed that component systems sells. But then I'd have to have a big oven and bigger this and bigger that and.........guess my employee can just keep painting the jigs one at a time!

I do powder paint anymore eye if I use them at all I paint on with liquid. I use rustoleum It works for me. Think it was Fatman who shamed me into trying powder paint. Boy am I glad that he did. I never once looked back either. I still have one can of spray paint that I keep around because I like the color. Silly me but the fish seem to like it too. And of course the white spray paint for catfish jugs that the State of Texas demands that I use.

I like powder paint for most jigs. Went to the thrift store and got a toaster oven for 5 bucks. It will hold literally hundreds of small jigs at a time.
I rigged the oven so it stays on even if the door is open and the jigs get plenty hot enough to take powder paint.
I made a fluid bed and it works but it's too slow.
Now I just reach in the toaster oven and grab a jig by the hook eye. I have my powder paint in a small Tupperware container - you have to have a lot of powder, not just a few ounces !
Holding them by the eyes keeps the paint out of the eye. Dip em, tap off the excess, and every so often but the lid back on the container and shake it to "fluff up " the powder. For all intents and purposes it is just as good as a fluid bed but much quicker.
Hang the jigs so they don't touch and bake them in the oven at 350 for maybe 5 minutes or so and that paint won't ever come off ��

I use powder paint. I have not tried anything else. I read alot of reviews and watched a ton of videos before i decided to get into jig tying. Powder paint was the best and less messy than anything else i saw. Plus I think how powder paint works is awesome!
