Got this video from Nimrod on the AR. board. It really helps to set you SS ducer at the correct angle to your boat.

One more thing. You will actually need two reference points. If you're sharp, you caught this in the video even tho it wasn't mentioned.
You need to reference WHERE the change is setting under the level. You can manipulate the bubble by pushing the change forward or backwards under the level like he does. The main point is to get this setup level at In Gear Idle!!!!
Good video, Bill. I'm about to buy a Helix and I'll refer back to this. Thanks for posting.
Thanks Bill.
I just installed my Helix 10 and I have a rooster tail coming from transducer on plain. My transducer is to low in the water correct? Also were do I need to mount it on my Xpress? Directly under jack plate I have it to the side of jack plate now. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
The height of the ducer should be set to where only the bottom is slightly below the hull, and the nose is above the hull. That'll keep it from shooting the rooster tail.
The bracket has slides for the mounting screws for that up and down adjustment on the Lowrance ducer. Don't remember if the bird does or not.
Where you mount it isn't that critical as long as the nose of the ducer, and the bracket is above the hull. I've seen them break the bracket smooth off if set to low. The water pressure will rip em off. Don't ask how I know that. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
