I have a question about the fly leaders. Like I mentioned in another thread I mostly bream fish. I use a small cork a tiny split shot and a #8 hook with a cricket on it. My question is can I just put all this stuff onto my leader or do I need a tippet also?

If you're using a tapered leader, it's a good idea to have spare tippet on hand. As you tie on hooks/flies, you will eat into your leader. By adding tippet, you will extend the life of the leader. If you're using just a straight piece of mono, though, I wouldn't worry about tippet.Quote:

Thanks death I was just trying to figure out what would be best I know the combo I am about to buy comes with a 9ft 4x leader and to me that is difficult to roll because of the long leader.
I normally run a 6ft tippet on the eyelet and it has always worked out great.
