Hello again - I have heard a lot about Sam Rayburn Reservoir, but don't know where to put in or what parts of the lake to fish.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Either that or I'm considering Lake Livingston which is even a larger body of water.
Would love to hear pros and cons between the two lakes as far as which one they prefer and how they fish it.

I live on Lake Livingston and I crappie fish every where else, Kickapoo Creek is probably the best place on the lake to crappie fish, but when they are biting good you can usually walk the creek boat to boat, it gets really crowded up in there, just not my idea of fun, White Rock is pretty good also, Livingston is a really good catfish and white bass lake starting around the end of March or the first of April, you can limit out every day on both.
I have not fished Rayburn for a good while for anything and crappie even longer, but I do often see guys talk about fishing the bridge. Don't know much else though, but my memory also tells me that the Corp has put in some brush piles.
the fish in lake livingston are on the dont eat list, lots of placards posted at the ramps. used to fish it a lot but havent been there in a couple years because of the advisory. i wouldnt eat any of the fish, just my opinion..............

...and if you dig deeper than that you will find that the white bass barely made this list and if they would have trimmed the red meat off the fillet before testing it would not have made the list I bet. Crappie aren't on the list.
