Marv - you still fishin or just kinda stayin close to the Fire.?
Things will get better for couple days - next week. Them biggins will still be
there in the "ole honey hole"
This cold weather will bunch them up and get them to thinking about spawning
:biggrin Hey Mike,
I'm good thanks for asking! With the wind and rain last week, took a few days off to do a little work on the boat.
Fool that I am, I was out there bright and early yesterday, with temps hovering 38 degrees! Yes, I have been called a little " Loco" before! LOL  Did ya ever get that feelin, that today is today, thems Crappie be biting? Well, I had that feelin, sorry to say thems Crappie had other thoughts, or they were at the other end of the Lake??
I ended up with 5 and only 1 would have been worth a photo. I'm not big on excuses! I know the fish are there, if I can't catch them, well that's on me! :dono Water temps were 58-59 a little windy not bad, then winds calmed, tried long lining and nothing, assortment of colors and styles of jigs all tipped with minners. Later changed to spider rigging and that's when I caught the 5.
Maybe I do have one excuse! :biggrin My friend that I go fishing with, told me to feed my minners spinach?? nonono I'm thinking maybe they were so wound up, they'd be scaring the Crappies away?
Whatcha think? :Rofl:Rofl
Glad all is well. Hey feeshin is feeshin. Popeye minners, thats a goodun
Most generally - first 8 -12 hrs after cold front comes through - they will have
total lock-jaw..........next 12 -18 hrs the med & smaller ones become a little more
active -as their bodies are not that sensitive baraometric pressure changes as the
older bigger ones.
I'm popeye the shiner man. I kick crappie butt when I can. toot toot.
