Fishing Report 1/18
Had the day off work Monday so decided to hit the lake. Yes I was called crazy by many and the game warden that checked me loading the boat at the ramp. Ended up going solo since the guy that had planned on going woke up sick. Put the boat in with the air temperature at 30 degrees and took it out that afternoon with the temperature at 38 according to my truck thermometer. Started the day tightlining behind a point to be somewhat protected from the wind. Caught a few but they eventually quit so I fished on toward the big water and where the WIND was. Figured they should be in the main lake anyways. Decided to try putting out the chain and the drift sock and just go with the wind. Ended up findin several of my better fish doing this. Was able to slow the boat down and push jigs at about .4-.6 mph. Was not a killer day but kept doing this for the rest of the day and ended with a decent mess. Was definitely a day that I earned every fish I caught with the conditions. Fish were caught in 15-22 fow fishing 12-16 ft deep, no color seemed to be killer but black and chartrues was the most consistent. Water temperature had dropped to 45-46 degrees. Greenwood is stained from one end to the other as well.

I see you were fishing Greenwood and does that point have a cross on it. I have been wanting to fish Murray but just can't bring myself to go. The last couple days have been decent here with hardly any wind. Thanks for sharing the report and pictures.

Been on Greenwood many times with a cold wind blowing and I know first hand you earned every fish you caught!! Good looking catch Roland and good report. Good to hear you found a way to slow the boat down and find some biting fish.
