Pickled beets is one of my favorites!! We eat about the same Bruce, you could eat at my house anytime. We usually have enough to feed 2-3 extra people.
Like "D" said...I'm from central Mississippi.....we didn't eat that.....didn't know what andoiille was till I came to Louisiana...still don't eat it or crawfish....Quote:

You speak of ham. A good friend of ours brought some "country ham" from Arkansas. This "country ham" is salty from the word go. Ann soaked it in some milk overnight, then made some "red-eyed" gravy for it. The red-eyed gravy involved coffee in it. That's what they do. Kentucky back woods folks tear this up. I did try it 30+ years ago while in Kentucky with her mother. I prefer a good brisket myself.
