if you haven't bought the 14fters I would go for the 16fters. Reason as soon as you get hooked on spider rigging you will want to sell the 14"s for 16's. Just saying!

Cookie, that an opinion, I like the 14s, that also is an opinion, boat size makes a big difference too.
20ft war eagle ? Witch would be better ? 16 or 14 ?
It's all in what you get use to. I fish 14s but want 16s. 16s are going to be heavier to fish with but think once you get use to them it would be fine. I'm fishing out of a 17ft war eagle I think the longer poles would help get baits out in front of boat a little better and be able to reach the spooky fish. Just my 2cents
Just when I decided to go with 14's this post shows up. What's a guy to do?
I have a 19 ft center console and fish 14's...16 ft is an awful lot of rod to mess with! ive had no problem catching fish pushing in 4-5 ft of water.
Go with the 14's beter overall pole especially if you fish by yourself. Got both and 16 is a lot to handle by yourself.Quote:

Have fished both for many years, and 16's do get heavy. We fish around 15 tourneys a year and almost always go with the 14's. Most of the pros do favor longer rods. Clear water in one place you would want longer rods.
