Anyone have firsthand pointers on targeting winter crappie from bank while lake is flooded? The lake I fish in Ne Oklahoma( lake hudson) is flooded big time, I usually fish at the local dock during winter and its inaccessible and probably will be for a while until the water goes down. I will be going through withdrawls if I cant catch a slab.
use a lake map to locate structure like stump fields,timber,creek channels that run close to bank,steep bank gradients etc.that you can get to. Getting to them without a boat...now that's a problem. Sometimes marinas can be good fishing if they allow fishing from them.In the winter not many people around to tell you no.
Use Google Earth on your computer or Iphone to see structure that was not under water before that will be underwater now. The fish will still relate to any structure outside of the water current. This could be some bush or even a picnic table during a flood.:twocents

might need a float if its down stream and its shallow ....
or may need to drop down a concrete wall deep right in the spillway ....
