CHUMMING FOR CRAPPIE .

a friend from Jackson came up to visit me at Water Valley one spring and we went to Grenada ,and caught two limits . The next day we were going to throw away the skin/ skeletons so we set them in the boat . We forgot to throw them away and was fishing Turkey creek when we noticed a warden coming down the bank checking folks . We weren't sure about the cleaning fish in the boat violation would apply or not . Since there were so many folks fishing we had time to slip them overboard and move about 20 yds. to another top . After 10 min. or so these two older guys pull up and tie off . Armed with multiple cane poles/minnows they started setting them out . We laughed thinking how the catfish bite was fixing to be on . We watched the two men catch a limit each(crappie) . Moral of the story is that those geezers with green sun visor hats with a mailbox for a motor cowl are sometimes luckier than good . :biggrin

I get out fished by those "wise & simple" gentlemen frequently. They are my hero's.

i always keep on eye on the older guys, wisdom does not come quickly
