John Peyton / myself took "red" and headed
to Tarpon this morning.
Fog, overcase, 73 degree at 6:30, could cut
humidity with a knife.
Water temp 74.8 -
Spider rigging was word today -
We started northeast end, open water 12 -14' range working spread of 10 rds 14 &16'
long. Wind out of ne 4 - 6 mph - very comfortable - little ripple. Various colors --
AWD crappie bites - blue/silver slider tail about 1" long, worked the best next too the ever hot setup pink -gold & red
ice jigs (moon jigs) all minnow tipped.
Bite was slow - but when they hit, itwas
with a vingence - those fish did not pussy foot around. Worked down
east almost to "pasture fence point"
Stayed with deeper water working
almost on bottom. By 12:30 wind had
ne - e - se - south - speed increased
significally = South 14mph - gusting
near 20 ... Bite stopped at 11:15, we
packed it in at 1pm
We kept 20, nothing under 11 inches,
threw back 8..
