I would say your deduction is a very distinct possibility ...
Did you see the turtles and the Carp to verify ... ??

no, didn't see those 2 turtles but did see a lot of them on the shore sun bathing. The spot is well known by local carp fishermen. They fish for them from the shore with corns. I do not believe it to be a catfish because of the image shape especially the triangular tail shape. It could not be a stripe bass either because it is not the season for stripe bass to linger in four mile run river.Quote:

Once again your deductions are very plausible ...especially with the surrounding clues you verified ...
The only way to be 100% positive with Sonar is to actually see the target in the beam coverage ...
