Need Advice on Cranking Battery

I have to buy a new cranking battery for the old 90hp nitro.
I have always been a pop top interstate man but I want to go maintenance free this time.
Any advice on what kind to buy would be greatly appreciated.

The best full replacement warranty,and the retailer or wholesaler you believe will back up without crying about it.At least 27 class but even a 29 class would be good if it will fit,just go ahead and get dual purpose crank,troll.

Or...do what some guys do.Get a car battery with a long warranty and don't tell them you are using it for marine.

I have had great luck with the Walmart batteries. Walmart is everywhere if you have an issue, but I never have. Usually get 4 years out of them and I fish every week.

I been using Walmart batteries for years and trickle charge after each trip. Never any problems and run the trolling motor a bunch.

There are very few companies that actually make the batteries themselves, and they make everyone else's batteries, so it really depends on where you can get good service, and price, and the best warranty you can. Maintaining the batteries is the key to getting good service and battery life. I use WM batteries, and usually have to replace the TM battery after about 3 yrs, but I figure it's a cost of enjoying the sport, just like ammo/guns for hunting, or gas for the motorcycle, etc., Cranking batteries can/do last longer but if you run several FF's, you should get as large a battery as will fit in the space.

I plug mine in as soon as I get back from fishing, every time.

That is the key Redge plug it in after every use. Cranking battery should last longer than trolling motor battery.

Buying the biggest battery that will fit in boat is good to more power is always better
