Norman 12-3 slam
Fine day on the pond
Put a lot of miles on the water today and finally put a pattern together about mid morning. By then the sun poked out and the bite simmered down.
For our efforts today, ended with 3 hybrids, 1 striper, 8 perch, 1 catfish and about 7 bass on the troll.
Stopped by food lion before making it to the ramp and came away with 32 fat crappie in less than an hour. Packed it up and hit the road by 2pm.
It was a mixed bag of fish on the downrigger and leadcore.
Highlight of the day was 5 fish on at once with 2 perch and 1 spot hanging from the same alabama rig.
Typing from my phone, so no pics until later.
For those heading out there, be careful. More floating logs then ive ever seen.

Can't wait for the pix. Awesome day.

Thanks for posting Pete. I'm on vacation next week , maybe I can wet a hook a few times.

Pete,
Hickory is very muddy so might take a few of your rigs to Norman for the first time tomorrow. Long Island boat ramp is the closest to me so any advice for a novice on Norman if I go tomorrow? Probably going to pull the umbrellas.

And how did you catch the crappie and how deep?

someone went home with a pile of meat

Wow those bass are Alabama bass. Wonder how they got in there? I've heard there's been a lot of private stocking going on in Norman though.

A couple newbie questions. How do you know they are Alabama strain LM? I have heard that they grow larger, so I assume that is a good thing?

Way to hit em, Pete. That's a pretty big bass in there. And a bunch of fat crappie!
