Monday Oconee Report 11/30/15
I was wide awake this morning at 4:30 a.m. and couldn't go back to sleep. As usual I had fishing on my mind. I finally got up and headed to Lake Oconee and put out my long lines. The bite started very slow and I only had 4 quality fish by 9:30. The fishing picked up around 10:30 and I was able to finish the day with 28 good fish. The fish were scattered and I had the best luck in 20-25 FOW. The day was mostly cloudy but very pleasant and there were very few boats on the water. The water warmed to 61 degrees by mid day. Once the fish started biting they would hit about any jig you put out but whites, and popsicle seemed to work the best. My best fish was almost 14.5 inches and there were several in the 13 inch range. From all reports the fishing this past few days is about as good as one could expect for fall crappie. It was a great day on the water.
