Introduction
Hello all, I just wanted to introduce myself. I am semi-retired, getting back into fishing. I have a camp on Shell Beach Rd in Belle River/Pierre Part area where I fish Lake Verret, the spillway and marsh, I also fish the Natalbany/Tickfaw river area where I live. I love Sacs but I also fish bream, bass or just whatever is biting. I just purchased a 2013 Express H18 with a 115 Yamaha to enjoy my new found freedom.

Welcome to the board Randy, and Happy Thanksgiving!
I'm in Shreveport, so I don't fish tickfaw, but some here do and you may run into them sometime. Hope you enjoy the group!

Welcome Randy, I'm sure you'll enjoy being here as the guys and gals here are great. You couldn't find a better group to hang with and the forum is the best on the web. I have fished the Verret area before and was just about to get back to fishing it when the hurricanes hit and really hurt the fishing. I hear it's coming back but no where near what it was a few years ago. I hope that the hurricanes bypass it for many more years so it can once again become the great fishery that it used to be. Perhaps this Spring I will begin making a few trips over there as the area is so beautiful. Good luck on the fishing and keep us posted on the action around the lake.

Hey Randy, welcome to the board. I live in Ponchatoula and fish the Ticfaw all the time. I have tan 18ft xpress cc with the crappie.com sticker on the console. My wife is normally fishing with me. If you run across us, feel free to stop in and say hi.

Howdy Randy....welcome to the Louisiana forum of CDC......I think you will like it here......best family friendly fishing forum on the web....we trust our members to keep everything "kid friendly" and that is what makes it so great....
I mainly fish the Henderson area for the last 5 years but before that I fished south Verrett, Grassy Lake, Bayou Sherman & Cheramie, Union Canals and Belle River.....launched at Attakapas or Doirons.....like PPG said, the hurricanes messed it up so I switched to Henderson..... it is a lot closer to where I live (Baton Rouge)....
I stopped in at P'Maw's Bait Shop not long ago...
My next trip will be down to check out my old spots in Cheramie and Sherman.....maybe south Verrett and Grassy lake....
Again, welcome to the forum....looking forward to your posts.....

I live up close to Winnfield so I won't be of much help to you as far as the fishing down there goes, but wanted to say hello anyway and welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.
PawPaw, the comeback has been slow but I have high hopes for next year. The water in Verret was very high practically all spring and I feel that the fish probably had a successful spawn with the catch being below normal.
sack531, I also live in Ponchatoula actually just below the fork where Yellow Water and Ponchatoula Creek meet and will keep an eye out for you. I fish a lot from Whiskey Island to Natalbany River.
Prefshiners, My camp is catacorner from Pmaw's Bait shop. He is closed now, moved to Springfield and opened another bait shop. He is trying to lease the bait shop on Shell Beach Rd, I am really hoping someone keeps it open. I too prefer shiners at times and I love to use crickets for bream. I am very familure with the area south of Verret that you speak of, I have fished it a lot over the years.
You guys in North LA have some great options for fishing, I hope to expand my horizons and make it up there sometime.
Thanks again,
Tickfawriver
