Woods report
Fished the MTCC tournament Saturday morning with Ray Norwood. Air temp was 45 water temp was 58 wind was blowing about 10 from the south increasing to about 15-18 during the day with temps rising to 64 or so mostly sunny. We pulled up to our first stop in about 15-22 ft of water and Ray caught 4 before I even had a hit. He was fishing a plain jig tipped with minnow just off bottom I was fishing shallower around 12 ft deep. Moved around to the mouth of a bay and only caught a few dinks with 1, 2-3 pound white bass causing Ray some trouble. Went to the river channel and fished for about an hour with no results for us. So we went back where we started and I was able to contribute to the 7 fish weigh in with 2 fish, now fishing deeper. We caught a total of 9 keepers,8 dinks, with about 75 yellow bass, 1 large mouth about a pound, 1 small mouth less then a pound, and the 2-3 pound white bass. Was pretty busy all day and ran out of minows. First time in a long time I have run out of minnows but the yellows were hitting all day long. Heard that if we would have went deeper we could have gotten away from the yellow's. We didn't place but had a good day anyway just catching fish. Check out the full report on MTCC thread.
Good fishing everyone.

Good report Dave. Sorry I'm so long in responding. 7 fish to the weigh in is always respectable. The windy conditions always make it tougher. I think you did good, but you'll do better next time. Let me know if any of what we spoke of pans out.....Tim.

Sounds like a busy day catching all those yellows. Seven Crappie to weigh in sounds good. Sorry you did not place.

I know what you mean with those yellow bass. I got picked clean by those this week. Texted the little woman to pick up minnows and bring them to the ramp for me. She was willing and even showed up with a subway sandwhich.
Then she reminded me how lucky of a man I was. LOL
Yes indeed.
