Fishing line for fishing with rocket bobber ?

Hey guys,

I am new to forum and new to crappie fishing. I've been doing bass fishing for few years and a lot of my fishing buddies told me I gotta try crappie fishing in winter. So, I started to look into it and bought some tackles, now I am not quite sure to get what size/type of line for the tackles I am gonna fish with. Here's the setup

Rod - St Croix Pan Fish series 8'
Reel - Pflueger President PRESLESP25X
Lure - 1/16oz round jig head with Kalin's Triple Threat 2'' Grubs

I just bought a few panfish series rocket bobber and we are probably gonna fish mostly by the shore or maybe sometimes on paddle boat ( if weather condition allowed ) in reservoirs.

What's my best bet or what would you do ?

Welcome to the site, but if you're not careful you will toss out all your bass equipment and go all out on the crappies...lol
The reel may have several line size recommendations printed on the spool, and I would go with one of the lower "pound test" lines from that list. In real clear water, you might want invisible line, but in stained water you could go with a higher vis line. If your water is loaded with brush you may want something a little heavier than if you're in water with few hang-ups. Go with the lightest line you can successfully use because lighter is more sensitive

I have 3 of the presidents and they are really nice reels. I have 6# mono on my model 20 and 25 and 12# on the 30. I think you have the 25 and 4, 6 or 8 will work fine. 6 lb is a good all round choice, but if the lake is clear and you are fishing shallow, a 4# low visibility line might be best,

You might want to check but when I bought the rocket bobbers a year ago you could only use a 1/32 oz jig with them. nothing heavier would work
