First of all I gotta say how impressed I am about everybody's jigs they make! They all look great! So my question is......which material you use makes the jigs fall slower? I know jig head size and line type matters but I see a lot of different material everyone uses now. I'm interested in buying some more and would appreciate any input. Thanks!
Actually I believe that some of the chenille will make s jig fall slower and the lighter the head will also help if using large Chenille. Especially using Estaz Grande as it's very large, but also costly when compared to other Mylar type chenille.

Different types of fur strips will help slow a jigs fall - I tried some beaver zonker strips and it made the bodies of the jigs huge but they made a 1/16th head fall really slow.

Nice jigs and thought Fatman! Bet that beaver gives it buoyancy and would do that. Guess buck tail would also and other hair that is hollow.
Have you tried dying any of that and is it possible?

Like skip said the estaz chenille is where it's at for me.
dyeing it isn't the problem getting the hide to stay soft so it's wrappable is!!LOL
Yes I watch that guy on Mountian Men tan hides to do just what your talking about and he does it old style using brains in tanning.Quote:

I would think that body materials that do not absorb water.
